Originally from Tullamore, Seán is a chartered physiotherapist and a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP). Seán believes in a hands on approach to patients and is a strong supporter of soft tissue release techniques, progressive strengthening and flexibility programmes, joint mobilisations and manipulations. He bases his treatment around goal-centred care and always adopts a multi-dimensional approach to his treatment, in order to promote an active lifestyle.
Expertise & Qualifications
Seán graduated from University College Dublin with a B.Sc. Honours Degree in Physiotherapy. During his degree, Seán completed extensive research into adolescent knee pain and Osgood Schlatters Disease and is the lead author on a study regarding its treatment. Seán has presented his research at the CSP Physiotherapy Conference in Liverpool and at the EFORT Orthopaedic Congress in Geneva. He is also certified in Level 1 clinical pilates and in dry needling.
Seán has spent a number of years in the UK developing his manual therapy and rehabilitation skills. While in the UK, Seán became certified by the McKenzie Institute for Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy of the spine. He also provided occupational physiotherapy at a major British corporation and has first-hand experience at the clinical risks and issues of desk-based jobs.
Along with treating adolescent knee pain, Seán has a keen interest and expertise in treating spinal pain. He is an expert in treating post operative patients, such as total knee/hip replacements, spinal fusions/discectomies, ACL reconstruction, ankle ligament reconstruction and rotator cuff repairs.
