Education / Training : Dr. Shane Lawlor received his Bachelors of Science in Chiropractic from the University of Glamorgan in Wales, one of only three approved Chiropractic Schools in the British Isles and the first undergraduate degree programme accredited by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC).  Meeting exacting international chiropractic educational standards, the BSc. in Chiropractic is also accredited by the European Council on Chiropractic Education (ECCE) allowing graduates to practise in all counties throughout the world.

Shane has trained in Active Release Techniques (ART®) and is a Certified Full Body, Nerve Entrapment and Masters ART Provider. He is a lead instructor for Active Release Techniques in Europe, teaching other Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Physical, Sports and Massage Therapists.

He completed the Titleist Performance Institute’s Medical Professional certification, which gives him internationally recognised expertise in the assessment and diagnosis of golf and sports related injuries.

Shane is a functional and injury screening expert who completed training in the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and Selective Functional Movement Assessment.

Other post graduate qualifications include Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS) A & B, Dry Needling, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM), Kinesiotaping

Post graduation, Shane worked in private practice in the UK for a number of years as a associate Chiropractor before returning to Ireland to set-up Lawlor Clinic in 2009.

Specialist Expertise : Shane’s clients include world leading golfers and athletes.  He is a Consultant Sports Chiropractor with Pro Golf Health, whose clients include Graeme McDowell, Michael Hoey, Charl Schwartzel, Francesco Molinari, Padraig Harrington, Peter Hanson, Ross Fisher, and Henrik Stenson.  An international soft tissue expert, he also works with inter-county GAA players and amateur golfers and has acted as trainer/consultant for Premiership Football Clubs.

Karen is Ireland’s only female full body certified Active Release Techniques (ART®) Provider. She is also the only female Titleist Performance Medical Professional currently working in Ireland, making her an expert in the treatment of sports and golf related injuries. She is a European instructor for Active Release Techniques, teaching Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Sports & Massage Therapists.

She is one of  Ireland’s leading Chiropractors in the treatment of babies and pregnant women, with extensive training in the appropriate techniques to address many antenatal and postnatal conditions.

Karen spent several years as an associate chiropractor in the UK, before co-founding Lawlor Clinic in January 2009.

Specialist Expertise : Karen has worked with GAA All-star winners, the Ladies Irish and Leinster Rugby squads, Laois ladies football team and other inter-county GAA players, as well as several professional ladies and International Junior Irish golfers. She has acted as a trainer/consultant for Premiership Football Clubs.

In addition to treating classic chiropractic cases and sports injuries, Karen also specialises in the treatment of pregnant women and babies, including cranial work which is excellent in helping newborns with skull problems and colic, and babies who have difficulty in breast feeding, among others conditions.

Stephen is a Certified Titleist Performance Institute Medical Professional, providing his clients with cutting edge assessment and diagnosis of golfing injuries techniques. He is also a certified Active Release Techniques (ART®) Provider, treating the vast array of soft tissue injuries that are seen within the clinic.

Following graduation, Stephen worked in the National Health Service in Northern Ireland treating patients with an array of neurological and musculoskeletal problems. He joined Lawlor Clinic in 2011.

Specialist Expertise : Stephen is currently the head Physiotherapist for the Laois Senior Hurling looking after medical services and performance therapy & conditioning with NADA's Kevin Croke.  He has provided Physiotherapy for local rugby and football teams working on pre-season conditioning and injury prevention. Stephen’s amateur golfing clients have enjoyed exceptional success in surmounting the physical limitations affecting their golf swing, helping them to get back on the fairway and pain-free within several sessions. Working alongside the sports chiropractic team, he delivers Physiotherapy as part of Lawlor Clinic’s multidisciplinary and holistic approach to client wellness and health.

Profession: Receptionist / Practice Manager

Education / Training : Suzanne Copeland joined Lawlor Clinic in April 2012 as Receptionist/Practice Manager, having 24 years experience in office administration, spending 18 of those years with M.T. Molloy Associates, Consulting Engineers, Portlaoise. Initially worked at the admissions office of the Mater General Hospital Dublin, following a 2 year Secretarial/Business Studies course at The Institute of Technology Carlow, and later in the Limb Fitting Clinic for a Senior Consultant, Dr. Keane, specialising in amputees and rehabilitation at the National Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Rochestown Avenue, Dun Laoghaire.

Profession: Sports Physiotherapist 

Education / Training : Paul received his Bachelor of Science in Sport Science and Health from Dublin City University. Following the completion of his undergraduate degree, Paul began his postgraduate studying in Edinburgh, where he graduated with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Queen Margaret University, renowned for its Health Sciences department and area of expertise in Physiotherapy. He completed his physiotherapy placement rotations in sites within both the National Health Service in Scotland and the Health Service Executive in Ireland, treating patients presenting with neurological, respiratory and musculoskeletal disorders.

Paul has completed additional postgraduate qualifications in Spinal Therapy, Sports Massage Therapy, Dry Needling, and Biomechanical Assessment with Orthotic Prescription. He is also a certified Active Release Techniques (ART®) provider, treating an array of soft tissue injuries/muscular disorders.

Paul has provided physiotherapy for GAA football, hurling, athletics, hockey and soccer clubs as well as Scottish Premier League based clubs, with an emphasis placed on pre-season strength and conditioning and injury rehabilitation.

Paul provides physiotherapy services in the clinic whilst working closely alongside the other members of the Lawlor Clinic team, contributing to a more detailed and comprehensive approach to patient health and well-being.

Paul treats clients in both the Dublin and Laois Lawlor Clinic locations.
