Webster Technique
Lawlor Junior now provides the Webster technique which is a specific analysis and treatment for the pelvis. It can be used on all adults, but is used primarily on pregnant women, as a means to correct biomechanical dysfunction in the sacroiliac joints.
Webster Technique Relief For Pregnancy, Back and Pelvic Pain
Pregnancy causes increased maternal hormones to be released in the mother which can cause excessive movement in the pelvis, sometimes causing pain and dysfunction. This dysfunction in the pelvis can cause surrounding muscles and ligaments to become too tight, which can cause the baby to not be in the optimal position for birth.
The Webster Technique corrects this dysfunction in the pelvis thus helping to relieve low back or pelvis pain in the mother and providing optimal room in the pelvis for the baby to grow and move into the correct position for birth.

How does chiropractic work help you?
The human body will always do its best to maintain optimum health. However during pregnancy, there are so many changes going on in the body from weight gain, to increased maternal hormone production. This can cause excess stress on the joints of the spine and pelvis in the mother, leading to pain and discomfort.
As Chiropractors we use our hands to perform gentle, safe, specific adjustments to individual joints with the intention of restoring normal function to the spine, joints, muscles and nervous system.
Specifically during pregnancy, you want to keep use of medications as low as possible for the safety of the baby. Unlike traditional methods of the use of painkillers, we will treat the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms, providing you with long term solutions to help prevent re-occurrence.
For you this means getting back to optimal health and allowing you to get on with your life. It has also been shown that women under chiropractic care during pregnancy have reduced labor and delivery times than women not under care.
Please Note: Many of our therapies are covered by the main Irish private health insurers, and you can also see us via a referral from you G.P – so please do ask.
